 SGC Members Traveling Exhibition 2009 - 2012

 


General Description: This years Southern Graphics Council Traveling Exhibition is comprised of 41 prints by members of the Southern Graphics Council. These prints represent a wide variety of printmaking processes and approaches as well as diverse imagery and content.  Each work is framed under plexi-glass and ready to hang. All prints are in standardized frames of the following dimensions: 16”x20”; 20”x25”; and 28”x36”.  The exhibition is crated in three (3) sturdy and reusable crates.  Included with the exhibition is gallery signage and labels for the work as well as full-color catalogs.

Hosting the exhibition:

General Provisions: The exhibitor will exercise all reasonable care in the handling and security of the works of art while in its care/custody. The exhibitor is responsible for storage, installation, filing damage reports, repacking and shipping to the next destination. The coordinator will provide an exhibition checklist, damage report, and schedule with contact names of all exhibition sites. The hosting institution will not hold the Southern Graphics Council or its members responsible in the event of any delay or damage resulting in the exhibition not being available or suitable for exhibition during the loan period indicated above.

Insurance: Works should be insured for 100.00 each during the exhibition and for $1000.00 total for shipping. Insurance is the responsibility of the exhibitor/shipper. All artists have released liability to the SGC and the hosting institution for their work and this insurance is primarily for frame/mat/plexi replacement cost.

Sales: All sales inquiries should be addressed to the coordinator, who will contact the artists. No fees will be charged for sales by the SGC. Specific works in the exhibition are not for sale during the duration of the traveling exhibition, but reprints or additional works may be available through the artists.

Publicity: The exhibitor shall be responsible for all publicity. Copies of all publicity, reviews and other printed material related to the exhibition should be forwarded to the coordinator at the close of the exhibition.

Rental Fee: A fee of 175.00 shall be paid to the Southern Graphics Council within 30 days of the close of the exhibition. An invoice will be provided.

Shipping Cost: The exhibitor shall be responsible for the shipping and shipping cost to the next destination. Work may be shipped as “printed matter” or “display material” classification to lower shipping costs. Works should be shipped by common carrier.
